The Rosebank Neighbourhood is bounded by the Rouge River to the west, Highway 401 to
the north, Petticoat Creek to the east, and Lake Ontario to the south. The total area of the
neighbourhood is 2.16 square kilometres, and includes a portion of the Rouge National Urban
Park and most of the Petticoat Creek Conservation Area. Historically an Iroquois village existed
near the mouth of the Rouge River.
There are so many beautiful green spaces here including easy access to the Rouge River, the Petticoat Creek Conservation Area, a waterfront trail, and Lake Ontario shoreline are major elements of the City’s Natural
Heritage System, and provide various opportunities for passive and active recreation and
environmental education, and they contribute towards the scenic character and identity of this
neighbourhood.
