Moving house is hard even if it is just an office!
After having our office in the same place for 4 years the thought of Moving House and leaving our office was not something we had even thought about.
BUT the building we were renting office space in was SOLD and all of the tenants were given notice in one fell swoop.
And by notice I mean on the 4th of February we were all told to leave by the 28th. (totally illegal by the way. They owed us 30 days Written notice)
Even just the thought of Moving House was a bit of a Yikes moment, but we moved into high gear and hunted down the PERFECT location for the new HOME TEAM TORONTO Head Office!
The only Issue, if you want to call it that (and I do!) is that whoever had the space before us had really HORRIBLE taste in colour.
The walls were painted either dark battleship gray (which was ok, but super dark) or……… Orange.
I’m not talking about a cool peach or a light mango, I am talking “ING Bank” ORANGE!!!!
Well, once we’d had the paperwork signed and the place was secured for us, we went about putting our own stamp on the space.
Now, as a Dutch Girl I am kind of proud of their choice of my country’s royal colour BUT…not on the walls!!!!
Louie added a wall with a door and a coffee area. And painted the walls a light and bright WHITE (bye bye Orange!)
We covered the glass dividers with 2 lanes of Ikea Blinds (MacGyver would be proud) and our Electronics, Artwork and all of the officey stuff was added.
Ahhhhh, now we are OPEN FOR BUSINESS!!
